I agree with everything on points 1-5.
In my post above my point was that a serious journal published a weak story,
based on a single unnamed source which gave very few details.
MAybe the journalist got more info, maybe not. The published article is thin.
My bad, the article says a "Senior Israeli official", not military.
On the last part, Israel tries to stay as quiet as possible about Syria since the beginning.
Israel has nothing to gain by openly showing it has good intel on Syria,
so sharing info discretely is the way to go with other states and journalists.
Sharing that info like that can get results that are good for Israel, diplomaticaly or militarily.
What do you mean about not smelling good?
