אני הולך להקים רשת ביתית עם 4 מחשבים אלחוטיים, ואני מתלבט לגבי שיטות האבטחה.
אני רוצה שיטת אבטחה עם כמה שפחות תקלות, כי אני לא רוצה להתעסק עם בעיות אלחוטיות בהן נתקלתי בעבר, כשהשתמשתי בשיטת הסתרת SSID (ביטול Broadcast SSID).

השיטות העדיפות עליי הן:
MAC Filtering - אין התעסקות כלל עם ה Client, את כל ההגדרות אני מבצע מהנתב.
WEP - יש התעסקות עם ה Client, אבל זה נחמד.

שמעתי על MAC FILTERING ..

אני עובד עם WEP , עובד מצויין ולא מורגש בגלישה (למרות שאומרים שהוא מאט את הגלישה ) אני גולש עם 1.5 MB ואין איתו בעיות .

אבל .. וזה משמעותי .. כל אחד תיאורטית יכול להיכנס לרשת (באיזור שאני גר בו זה לא אפשרי ) ..

בשיטה הראשונה אתה מגדיר את כתובת ה MAC של כל אחד מכרטיסי הרשת של המחשב ומגביל אותה רק לMACים הספציפיים .

ברשת כזאת (של 4 מחשבים אלחוטיים ) מומלץ MAC .
לשימושך :

MAC filtering usually allows you to prevent certain MAC addresses from accessing the internet. It will also allow certain MAC Addresses to access the internet and deny all others. The second setup is the one that you need to use. Most people take home their wireless router, plug it in, and never bother to setup MAC filtering. This is really bad. If MAC filtering is not setup anyone can use their network to access the internet. Hackers drive arround towns in their cars with their laptops trying to connect to the internet. These wireless routers are setup to hand out ip addresses via DHCP, so the second that a hacker gets in range they are on the net. The hacker is on your network what now? Well he could sniff the traffic on your network to find out what you are doing. He could also watch your network for credit card information or other vital financal information. That is not really likely. Most likely he will start hacking other peoples networks from yours. This is a huge concern, because it looks like you are attacking others. If you are in the states, you could have the FBI knocking on your door. I know this for a fact because I assisted the FBI in some instances while I worked for an isp. So here is fair warning! Setup MAC filtering now!
