שלושה בני משפת מתנגדי אסד נחטפו בתחילת השנה,עפ"י מסמכים ועדויות גורמים במערך לבטחון פנים לבנונים סייעו לשגרירות הסורית בפעולה.
בחשודים סאלח חאג' שהיה אחראי מטעם הלבנונים לאבטחת השגרירות הסורית והוא ( אולי סתם צירוף מקרים ) בנו של עלי חאג' ראש שרותי הבטחון הלבנונים בדימוס שנחשד בהשתתפות בקנוניה לרצח חרירי ב2005.
