BEIRUT: Three Lebanese fishermen were kidnapped by the Syrian navy Saturday after a warship crossed three kilometers into Lebanon's maritime borders off the northern town of Arida, security sources said.

The three fishermen, identified as Fady Hamad, 37, his brother Khaled Hamad, 33, and his nephew Maher Hamad, 17, were on board their boat when soldiers fired shots in the air and threatened to kill the Lebanese men, the sources added.
