Sharing Folders Bug Bash Results
Our first bug bash of the beta was a resounding success. For all of those who participated, great job! You all contributed 40 new, unique bugs. The Sharing Folders team came away impressed and appreciative. They had a very difficult time selecting the “best bug.” So, without further a due here are the winners!
« Best Bug – Chris Overd (Connect handle: Overdo)
Chris submitted this performance issue, bug #36945. Excellent work Chris!
« Most Points – (Tie) Lochey Ellis (Connect handle: Lochey) & Steven Shpak (Connect handle: steven23toronto)
Both Lochey and Steven scored 8 points. Thanks for the bugs guys!
« Random Winners – These were randomly selected testers who filed unique bugs during the bug bash.
· Jonathan Yaniv (Connect handle: MrOffice-Office)
· Paul Price (Connect handle: chaos)
· Thomas Olsen (Connect handle: Thomas.Olsen)
All winners will get to choose a prize out of our prize bin that currently contains such items as Xbox 360 games, cool MSN swag, webcams and t-shirts. Congratulations to all of the winners!
New Test Scenarios
We have just posted new test scenarios for Offline IM, Conversation Window and Music Mix. Test scenarios are an important way for the product team to guarantee that certain features get used by all testers and to collect feedback about the experience. These are also a great way to get you started with the new build. Go to
http://connect.microsoft.com to access the test scenarios.
Send Out Those Invites!
By now all of you should have invites to share with your friends and family. We encourage you to send as many as you can. One of the very important areas we are trying to verify is the ability of our servers to handle a large amount of load. By sending out your invites you are playing a key role in us doing this verification. We are monitoring who is sending their invites and will provide more to those who send all of theirs out. If you run out of invites and need more, you can send mail to
wlminfo@microsoft.com.
How To Contact The Beta Team
wlminfo@microsoft.com is now the official email address of the Windows Live Messenger Beta team. This email address was created as a way to support our Managed beta testers. Please do not post it on public forums and the like as the increased traffic from non-Managed beta testers makes it more difficult for us to respond to your e-mails.
Thanks!
