פאנטום ישראלי שנפל במלחמת יום כיפור - תמונה נדירה
from Hazor Major Gad Smoke sledgehammer 615 attack aircraft missile batteries in Syria
During the attack, Major's plane was hit by a red-SA-6 missiles launched Syrian fan-shaped. As a result of the pilot Leaf damage was blown out of the plane. Smoke did not notice the absence of the navigator, probably due to aircraft noise following the attack, and turned back to land at Ramat David.
hat is a ridiculous assertion to say the least. This photo was taken at Hatzor air base on October 07, 1973. The aircraft # 615 belongs to #201 squadron. The Pilot was Gad Samuk and the Navigator, Avikam Lif. Navigator Lif, was ejected by the pilot and became an Egyptian POW. This photo shows the plane after veering off the runway in the emergency landing. Mr. Shlomo Aloni's book "Israeli Phantoms" The Kurnass in IDF/AF Service 1969-1988, shows theame photo and another one as well. Clearly being recovered by Israelis on an airbase. The Arab claim that this was a captured Phantom is to be expected as lately, they have tried repeatedly to rewrite history.
