Concerts will be held in London, Berlin, Paris, Rome and Philadelphia on July 2 to raise awareness of Africa's starving millions.
Sting, U2, Coldplay, Robbie Williams, REM, Sir Paul McCartney and Madonna will feature in the line-up in Hyde Park, London.
Sir Bob also said the Spice Girls would be welcomed to join the performers if they reformed in time, contradicting earlier reports they were not wanted.
Philadelphia will boast such stars as Will Smith and Bon Jovi. Germans will be able to see big names such as A-Ha and Lauren Hill.
In Rome Faith Hill and Duran Duran will perform while Paris will play host to names such as Craig David, Placebo and Jamiroquai.
Sir Bob said: "We don't want people's money. We want them."

He told a news conference that the G8 meeting being held in Scotland's Gleneagle's hotel at the same time as the concerts provided a "unique opportunity for Britain to do something unparalleled in the world... to tilt the world a little bit on its axis in favour of the poor".
The campaigner is calling on people to march to Edinburgh at the same time as the summit of the world's most powerful nations to show to political leaders their anger at the famine in Africa.
The Government has given its full backing to Live 8, promising to expand the site at Hyde Park by 50%.
But Sir Bob said it was time for all western governments to come good on a promise made 30 years ago to double aid, a pledge which cost each person the equivalent of "half a stick of chewing gum".
Otherwise, he warned: "Be aware that you will suffer politically, We will make sure that you suffer poltically."
