Tom Cruise believes in aliens
Tom Cruise believes in aliens. The Hollywood star, who is engaged to actress Katie Holmes, has admitted he is convinced of the existence of extra terrestrials. He is quoted by German magazine Bild as saying: "Are you really so arrogant as to believe we are alone in this universe? Millions of stars, and we're supposed to be the only living creatures? No, there are many things out there we just don't know."
Tom's belief in alien life ties in with the Church of Scientology, of which he is a devout follower. The Church's founder, L. Ron Hubbard, claimed extra terrestrial beings were sent to planet Earth by intergalactic ruler Xenu, who then blew up the aliens with hydrogen bombs in a volcano.
John Travolta's wife Kelly Preston, also a Scientologist, believes Tom made the remarks to highlight Scientology. She told America's Fox News: ""He's creating awareness. Good for Tom Cruise for bringing it to the forefront." However, the actor's sister and publicist, Lee Anne DeVette, insists Tom's comments are not at all related to Scientology. She told America's USA Today newspaper: "I'm happy to tell you it has absolutely nothing to do with Scientology. He just asked, 'Who are we to think we're the only people, the only life forms that exist anywhere?' He clearly said he has never seen aliens."
