Al-Jadeed television on Wednesday reported that Walid Akoum, a Lebanese judge in the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, has telephoned a Lebanese judge close to Speaker Nabih Berri to inform him that the STL will release an indictment in five to seven days in the case of the 2005 assassination of former premier Rafik Hariri. The TV network said Akoum used a Lebanese landline phone number, prompting the other judge to ask him whether he was in Lebanon. “No, I’m at the tribunal and I’m calling via a hotline that is connected to the court’s HQ in Monteverde,” in Lebanon’s Northern Metn district, Akoum answered, according to Al-Jadeed.
