Cochin, India (Sept. 23, 2005) – Crew members aboard the rescue and salvage ship USS Safeguard (ARS 50) gather around a recovered Indian Seahawk jet salvaged by a joint U.S. and Indian dive team. Indian Ocean (Sept. 27, 2005) - An F/A-18F Super Hornet, assigned to the “Black Aces” of Strike Fighter Squadron Four One (VFA-41), makes an arrested landing on the flight deck aboard the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Persian Gulf (Sept. 26, 2005) – Sailors assigned to the guided missile crauiser USS Chosin (CG 65), tie-up their Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) while delivering the next "meals on keels" to members of the Norfolk, Va.-based Mobile Security Detachment Two Five (MSD-25). MSD-25 is assigned to protect the Iraqi Khawr Al Amaya Oil Terminal. Chosin provides fresh cooked meals three times a day for the U.S. Navy security detachments aboard both Khawr Al Amaya and Al Basrah oil terminals. Chosin, homeported in Hawaii, is currently deployed to the region to conduct maritime security operations (MSO).
