A lawyer was out shooting one day and brought down a duck. It landed on the other side of a fence and the lawyer promptly climbed over to retrieve his quarry. At this point a farmer appeared and remonstrated with the lawyer for both trespassing and poaching.
“Look here sunshine," says the lawyer, “where I come from I’m a top attorney and I’d sue your arse off. So just be a good man and let me take the duck."
“Well around here we don’t have no fancy lawyers." Replied the farmer. “Just ‘The Three Kicks Rule’."
“What in tarnation is ‘The Three Kicks Rule’?" asks the lawyer.
“Well, I gets to kick you or clobber you and then you gets to kick me or clobber me and after three goes the first one to stand up gets the prize."
The lawyer figures he can take on this old fool anytime of day and thus agrees.
The farmer starts with a well aimed kick to the lawyer’s groin and as he goes down brings his knee up under the lawyer’s nose. For good measure the farmer lobs in another hefty kick in the lawyer's stomach as he lies there, rolling around in agony on the ground.
Finally the lawyer stands up and says “OK, you old sod. Now it’s my turn."
The farmer replies, “Nah, you win. You take it. Weren’t my duck anyway!"
An Avoirdupoisknight re-creation.
