(יש כאלה שמשלימים במשך השירות), אז יש המוI מפקדים ולוחמים נגדים עם המון "פז"ם", ובהתאם יש הרבה יותר דרגות "נגדים" (האמת היא ש"מש"ק" - מפקד שאינו קצין - הוא לרוב תרגום יותר מתאים לתפקידם, אם הם במקרה לא רק לוחמים וותיקים אלא גם בתפקידי פיקוד על חיילים אחרים). להמחיש, הדרגה של הלוחם למעלה, "MASTER SERGEANT", הוא 8 דרגות מעל "טוראי ראשון", ו4 דרגות מתחת לדרגת נַגָד הבכיר ביותר בARMY - שהוא SERGEANT MAJOR OF THE ARMY ויש רק אחד המשרת בדרגה זו בו-זמנית - למעשה מין רמטכ"ל נַגָּדִי כזה שמייעץ לקצין הבכיר ביותר בחיל (שהוא הרא"ל של צבא היבשה).
