הM113 עושה קמבאק באפגניסטן... עקב בעיות עם נגמ"שי הLAV-III שלהם, הכוחות הקנדיים מחזירים את הM113 לשירות למשימות חי"ר. וכנראה גם מוסיפים מיגון משופר.

זה דווקא נראה לי כמו משגר טאו כפול רגיל. לא מזהה כאן חופה מעוגלת..

ה-F הוא דגם משופר, אבל אני לא חושב שזה עם הבדלים באמת משמעותיים מבחינת ביצועים ביחס ל-S.

כלי רכב קרביים משוריינים (רק"ם) מסוג זאב יוסבו לשימוש כאמבולנסים. זאת, לאחר שטנקי מרכבה, נגמ"שים והאמרים כבר הוסבו לשמש ככלי רכב להצלת חיים. כעת נבחנת האפשרות לצרף אליהם בעתיד גם את ה"נמר" וה"אכזרית". "זאבים" שיוסבו לאמבולנסים ייכנסו לשימוש כבר בחודשים הקרובים, בעיקר באיו"ש. עלות הדיגום הפנימי לכלי הרכב היא כמה מיליוני שקלים. הזאב-בולנס ייצבע בלבן ויצוייד בסמל של מגן דוד אדום, בדומה לאמבולנס רגיל.
בענף הנדסה רפואית במפקדת קצין הרפואה הראשי ימליצו גם על התאמת כלי רכב מסוג "נמר" ו"אכזרית" לטיפול בפצועים. "הנמר הוא בסיס טוב לאמבולנס", אמר ראש הענף, סא"ל יעקב שלום. "הוא ממוגן נגד ירי טילים, יש בו חלל גדול וכניסה נוחה מאוד. כעת אנו מנסים להסב כלי רכב אחד שישמש לניסיון". לדברי סא"ל שלום, ירכוש חיל הרפואה נמרים שישמשו אמבולנסים ברגע שיוחלט סופית על הכנסת הנמר לשורות צה"ל.
בימים אלה בונים בענף הנדסה רפואית את ערכת הדיגום הפנימי שתהפוך את טנק המרכבה 4 לאמבולנס, והיא תושלם בחודשים הקרובים. "לשעבד טנק לוחם לפינוי זה לא אידיאלי", אמר שלום. "אך כוחות הרפואה נמצאים עם הלוחמים, ואי-אפשר לעכב את פינוי הפצועים. אם במקום מסוים הטנק יכול לעבור, גם רכב הפינוי חייב להיות מסוגל לעבור".
