Naharnet Exclusive: The Government Trembles Hours From its Birth; Phalange Party, Faroun Threaten to Resign
Phalange party leadership initiated after the announcement of the new government a series of phone calls and internal dialogues as a gesture of indignation and denial to the treatment the party received in the governmental issue, well-informed Phalange Party sources told Naharnet.

The Phalange party is due to take a "big" decision in the following hours by announcing the party's withdrawal from March 14 coalition. It will ask its Minister Salim al-Sayegh to resign after assigning him the Social Affairs Ministry.
The sources confirmed that the decision is non-negotiable and there would be no backing down considering that the Phalange party did not receive that treatment it deserved in the government.

State Minister Michel Faroun followed suit and threatened to resign from the new Cabinet for not attaining a portfolio ministry, according to exclusive information also made available to Naharnet.

חיזבאללה - שר החקלאות ושר בלי תיק.
אמל (שיעים פרו אירן/סוריה) - שרי החוץ, הספורט והבריאות.

נראה כאילו מכל המלחמות, באסיל (החותן של אעון) קיבל את תיק האנרגיה בסוף (ולא את תיק התקשורת,שעבר לידי מישהו אחר מאותה מפלגה) ושהחיזבאללה, למרות שוויתרו על דרישותיהם המקוריות (חסינות לכוח הצבאי שלהם וזכות ווטו של האופוזיציה) לא קיבלו שום עמדת כוח.

אמל לעומתם (המתונים בגוש ה"התנגדות") קיבלו מעבר למשרת דובר בית הנבחרים גם את שר החוץ, התיק ה"גדול" היחיד לדעתי שניתן לאופוזיציה.

Hariri: Lebanon Will Not Remain a Playground for Regional Conflicts
Prime Minister Saad Hariri said that "Lebanon will not remain a playground for regional conflicts", and added that the Lebanese deserve a secure civil state.
Hariri was delivering a speech during a ceremony held by Beirut Arab University which he said it was a reflection for the official Egyptian policy under the leadership of President Hosni Mubarak in supporting Lebanon.

"We are in front of a period that requires everyone's efforts in order to clear the general atmosphere from the remnants of the past. Lebanon needs the efforts of the people of education, culture, and politics. Our heart is open on the white page," added the new Lebanese Premier.

Hariri stressed on the importance of national coherence to restore the lost trust between the state and its citizens. He expressed his "immense trust in the Lebanese people in restoring what was damaged in terms of relations."
