Some 4000 Bulgarian policemen protested in the Bulgarian capital Sofia for better payment, demanding a pay-rise of 50 per cent whereas the government planned to increase it by just 5 per cent. They gathered for the first time in front of the embassy of the Czech Republic as the country holding currently the EU-presidency and submitted a letter with their demands.
