IAI signs Iron Dome joint production deal with Czech radar company Retia

Israeli Aerospace Industries (IAI) has entered into a co-operation agreement with Czech radar and command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) provider Retia;it was announced on 22 October.

The deal is focused on the production of IAI's Iron Dome detection and fire-control radar and follows reports of the Czech Republic's interest in procuring the system.

The two companies agreed to jointly offer IAI's ELM-2084 MMR multimission radar, aiming to provide it to the Czech armed forces, with the possibility of eventually also offering the missile interceptor component of the Iron Dome system.

IAI's executive vice president and president of the company's radar specialist Elta Systems Nissim Hadas said, "Retia will be involved in all phases of the programme, including the production of key components of a radar interface for command-and-control and follow-up support."

Czech Military to Purchase 8 Radars Made in Israel

The Czech Republic's defense minister says the country's military has decided to purchase Israeli-made radars for its military.

Martin Stropnicky says the army will pay 2.9 billion koruna ($114 million) for a total of eight ELM 2084 MMR radars made by the Israeli state-run IAI Elta company. The radars are used in the Israeli Iron Dome rocket defense system.
