Exercise Tropical Hammer 09-01 is a general Engineer support training exercise that is being held in Jamaica from March 21 to April 24, 2009. Led by the Canadian Operational Support Command (CANOSCOM), Tropical Hammer is conducted in cooperation with the Jamaican Defence Force (JDF) and includes the participation of American and British military engineers. The overall objective is to provide military Engineers with an opportunity to train and confirm their collective technical skills in preparation for deployment to Afghanistan. The work in Jamaica is similar to the type and standard of design and construction that military engineers can expect to see in Afghanistan.
