Winners announced for Rodeo 2009 competitions
7/27/2009 - MCCHORD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. (AFNS) -- Air Mobility Rodeo 2009 ended here July 24 with a closing ceremony and the announcement of 74 awards including the coveted "Best of the Best" Award.
The competition is the Air Force's and Air Mobility Command's premier mobility competition and included seven international competitors and observers from 13 other nations.
The main awards presented during the closing ceremony were:
-- Knuckle Buster Award to the 374th Airlift Wing from Yokota Air Base, Japan.
-- Best Aerial Port Team to the 19th AW from Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark.
-- Best Contingency Response Team to the 621st Contingency Response Wing from McGuire AFB, N.J.
-- Best Security Forces Team to the 446th AW from McChord AFB, Wash.
-- Best International Team to the team from South Korea.
-- Best Aeromedical Evacuation Team to the 86th AW from Ramstein AB, Germany.
-- Best Aerial Refueling Team (tanker) to the 22nd Air Refueling Wing from McConnell AFB, Kan.
-- Best C-5 Galaxy Team to the 60th Air Mobility Wing from Travis AFB, Calif.
-- Best C-130 Hercules/C-160 Team to the 19th AW from Little Rock AFB.
-- Best C-17 Globemaster III Team to the 62nd Airlift Wing from McChord AFB.
-- Best KC-10 Extender Team to the 60th AMW from Travis AFB.
-- Best KC-135 Stratotanker Team to the 916th ARW from Seymour-Johnson AFB, N.C.
-- Best Air-land Team to the 60th AMW from Travis AFB.
-- Best Tanker Team to the 97th AMW from Altus AFB, Okla.
-- Best Airdrop Team to the 62nd AW from McChord AFB.
And the Best Air Mobility Team, the top award given, went to the 62nd AW from McChord AFB.

-- Best Security Forces Combat Shooter went to Airman 1st Class Cory C. Linn from the 60th AMW from Travis AFB.
-- Best Security Forces Combat Tactics Team went to the team from Germany.
-- Best Combat Endurance Course Team went to a team from McGuire AFB comprising the 305th Air Mobility Wing and the 514th Air Mobility Wing.
-- Best Aerial Port Challenge Course Team went to the 62nd AW from McChord AFB.
-- Best Aerial Port 10K Forklift Operators went to the 521st Air Mobility Operations Wing from Ramstein AB.
-- Best 60K Tunner Team went to the 60th AMW from Travis AFB.
-- Best C-5 ERO Team went to the 60th AMW from Travis AFB.
